Services as Individual as You Are

Weddings, commitment ceremonies, memorial services, and blessing ceremonies all represent significant events in the life of the participants and those who share the experiences with them.  Just as each individual is a unique expression of the divine gift of life, the moments that commemorate each life should be fitting for that person, or that couple, and tailored for the unique circumstances of each occasion.

I strive to make each ceremony truly representative of each person being celebrated.  There are so many wonderful ways to make life event celebrations truly special and I look forward to working with you to plan a ceremony that is uplifting, a celebration of the gifts of the Spirit, and great fun too!

Something About Rev. Garber

I came to the ordained ministry in the United Church of Christ (UCC) after years as a teacher and executive in public broadcasting.  I taught public speaking, dramatic arts, radio and television, philosophy, ethics and Bible studies.  For the last several years I have served churches as a pastor, interim pastor and consultant specializing in reconciliation and re-visioning.  My life has always centered on service professions and that continues in work with individuals and families.

While ceremonies should always include attention to good liturgy and be grounded in thanksgiving for the gifts of the Spirit, they should also be occasions of laughter and joy.  I have often remarked, "If you can't laugh in church or heaven, then I don't want to go to either one!"   My personal beliefs include the strong conviction that the great questions have many answers and that we can truly be flexible and caring without being rigid and exclusive.

Life is not a destination, it's a journey.  I believe we creatures are supposed to enjoy the journey, taking time to celebrate each other and the presence of the Spirit within, as we commemorate life milestones.
